There have
been seven new publications added to the Forum and the first one can be found
in the UAW national, regional and local specific topics section. The article
comes from a Free Press Business Writer reporting that the Rev. Jesse Jackson
and UAW President Bob King greeted about 800 Ford workers Tuesday morning at
Dearborn Truck Plant in an effort to drum up support for a march in Detroit on
Saturday.
Two new
posts have been placed under the GM, Ford and Chrysler tab. The first article
comes from the Detroit News Washington Bureau stating that the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation into
whether fuel tanks in 3 million 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles pose a
fire hazard. The second article comes from the Detroit News telling that police
departments can start ordering the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger Pursuit in
September.
One new post
has made it into Hodgepodge. The article comes from WANE TV-15’s News of the
Strange. It tells of a driver that has been convicted of animal cruelty and
fined $100 after Virginia authorities found a goat stuffed in the trunk of her
car. Every time I try to picture this in my head, all I can do is laugh.
Two new
posts have been entered into the Open Discussion section of the Forum. The
first article comes from the Detroit News. It reports that after reviewing the
missteps that led to record recalls, since June, Toyota has promoted several
U.S. and Canadian executives to build the ranks of future managers in North
America. Well Toyota I didn’t think you could do it, but you have hit a new low
by promoting U.S. and Canadian executives, so they can take the fall for Toyota
Motor Corp.’s President Toyoda when he makes the decision that money trumps
safety. If anybody thinks that this meaningless gesture of concern for consumer
safety will cause Toyota to build safer cars, you are sadly mistaken. Remember,
Toyota only care about MONEY, they don’t understand that the love of money is
the root of all evil. The second article comes from the Detroit News Washington
Bureau. It states that federal regulators have upgraded a probe into 1.2M
2005-2007 Toyota Corolla and Matrix vehicles over complaints that the engines
can stall at any speed and not restart. Toyota has opted not to issue a recall,
imagine that.
One new post
has been added to the Opinion category. The article is a release from the
Associated Press reporting that China has just been declared the world’s second
largest economy, and now it has a monster traffic jam to match. It tells about
what people did in the eighth day of the jam that is expected to last 3 more
weeks, that’s right weeks. This makes me wonder if China is really ready for
the onslaught of automakers that are relying on this growing market to sell
millions of vehicles.
